What is the University Club?

University Club is a great way to meet members of the University community. Membership is open to all current and retired faculty and staff of Illinois State University. The University Club provides an opportunity to learn more about Illinois State and the local community. During the semester we hold meetings from 3:30 - 5:30 p.m. nearly every Friday with a cash bar and hors d'oeuvres.

At 4:30 we have guest speakers who sponsor the discussion, and give a brief ten to fifteen minute presentation or provide recognition to a group. This is always followed by an opportunity to ask questions and an opportunity for discussion. Some of our past meetings included celebrating recently tenured and promoted faculty, faculty and staff technology opportunities, and future developments in the College of Arts and Sciences. The meetings take place in the beautiful Faculty Staff Commons Area located in the Northeast corner of the Bone Student Center.

Membership in University Club also provides an opportunity to attend the Gourmet Dinners. These moderately priced meals are based on a theme. Past themes have included "Culinary Educator's Collection", "Recipes from the American Academy of Chefs" and "Foods of Brazil".

The cost for membership in the University Club is $20 dollars for the year. The dues help with the costs when the University Club sponsors discussions and to help fund our scholarship program. In December 2005 we were able to award $250 dollar scholarships to five deserving students. ALL NEW FACULTY AND STAFF HAVE FREE MEMBERSHIP THEIR FIRST YEAR! Please come and meet your colleagues from across campus. Programming and facilities support for UClub has also been provided by generous contributions from the Provost's Office and the President's Office.
